I mentioned earlier that this is not a church site, but being a Christian, you can't get rid of the fact that the church is a very big and important part of Christian life if we are going to please God. So I am going to have to mention some facts about the church, and hope they are benificial to you.
We gather to worship "in Spirit and in truth" for;
a. communion - I Corinthians 10:16; 11:20; - 30; Acts 20:7
b. Singing - Ephesians 5:18;19; Col. 3:16
c. Praying - Acts 2:42; I Thessalonians 5:17, 25
d. Giving - I Corinthians 16:1;2 II Corinthians 9: 7
e. Teaching - Acts 2:42; I Timothy 3:15
The work of the church - - - Saving souls
1. Preaching the gospel, I Thessalonians 1:8; II Corinthians 11:8; Phil. 4:14-18
2. Providing for its poor, Acts 4:34; 35; 6:1-7; I Timothy 5:16
3. Edifying itself, Ephesians 4:11-16
Its Doctrine -- The New testament
1. Christ is the Lawgiver, Ephesians 4:7; 5:24
2. The Holy Spirit is the Revealer, I Corinthians 2:13 Ephesians 3:1-6
3. The apostles teaching its manual, Acts 2:42; Ephesians 2:20
Its Unity - - Undenominational
a. The Savior prayed for it, John 17:20-21
b. The apostles pled for it, I Corinthians 1:10
c. The apostles presented the plan for it Ephesians 4:4-6
One body - - Unity in organism (parts) Romans 12:4-5 I Corinthians 12: 12-27

The faithful perpetuate it, Ephesians 4:1-3
The voice of God
Jesus Christ said He would build His church
"I will build my church. . ." Matthew 16:18
The Scriptures declare He built only one
There is only one body . . . Ephesians 4:3
He is the head of the body, the church . . . Col.1:18
